Jefferson-Clarion Head Start
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Teacher provides age appropriate educational opportunities for children based on the individual curriculum plan. Teachers also supervise classroom staff and parent and community volunteers at their classroom as well as during Head Start related activities. The Teacher assists parents in developing skills in observing and understanding their child’s growth and development.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Level A – Baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education with Certification in Early Childhood, OR Baccalaureate degree in a related field with the equivalent coursework in Early Childhood Education with Certification in Early Childhood Education.
Level B – Baccalaureate or advanced degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood Education, with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience teaching, screening, and assessing pre-school
age children.
Wages: Entry: $40,000 Annual or commensurate with education and experience; Exempt
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week, approx. 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
