What is Even Start?

Even Start is a FREE educational Program that works with the family.

Even Start Provides:

  • Adult Education
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Parenting Ideas
  • Parent-Child Activities

Even Start help families by:

  • Supporting parents so that they can be their child’s first and best teacher
  • Helping parents with GED preparation or improving math and reading skills
  • Encouraging family time through Family Fun Nights

What Services are provided by Even Start?

Home Visits

Even Start Parent Partners visit families 2-3 times a month. They bring books, toys, educational games, adult lessons, and lots of creative ideas! These visits help parents and children with reading, encourage family evolvement, and offer a variety of fun educational experiences.

Classes for Adults

We offer adult education, GED classes, and Parent Time sessions at our classrooms in Brookville, Punxsutawney, Reynoldsville, Brockway, Big Run, Clarion, New bethlehem, Knox and Franklin. Parents discuss topics such as child development, discipline, health and safety, and other topics important to parents.

Child Time

Even Start offers childcare at the same time as their adult education and Parent Time Classes. Our Staff prepare educational; activities for parents and children to do together.

Who is eligible to receive Even Start Services?

Do you need your GED or help with reading or math skills?

Would you like to help your child learn?

If you answered YES to both questions and you have a child 7 years old or younger, Even Start is a program that can help you and your family.
